Vision and Mission
This institution is part of the three-tier Panchayat system and is the main institution implementing various schemes of the Central and State Governments aimed at local economic development, poverty alleviation, upliftment of the weaker sections, welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, women and children. It also plans and implements schemes for comprehensive development using Central and State funds.

The functions assigned to the Block Panchayat as per the 4th Schedule of the Panchayat Raj Act are as follows. The implementation of various schemes based on these are also among the objectives.
The structure and main tasks of this institution
The institution is governed by an elected Governing Body as per the Panchayat Raj Act. The Governing Body consists of 14 members and 3 Gram Panchayat Presidents. Standing Committees on Finance, Development, Health and Education, Welfare and a Steering Committee consisting of a Chairman and members elected from among the members of the Governing Body have been formed for the convenience of administration. The general committee and various standing committees meet to take all the administrative decisions of this institution. Planning, project formulation, implementation and evaluation of various projects naturally fall under the administrative responsibilities. Apart from these, various central and state-sponsored projects are also implemented as per the guidelines. The main element of this administrative system is the administrative structure. The Secretary is the chief officer of the institution.
