Awareness Programs
Operation Toofan: The Narco Hunt 2.0
Unite Against Drugs – Join Hands for a Drug-Free Society
📢 About the Programme
As part of a strong social movement against drug abuse, an anti-drug awareness programme titled "Operation Toofan – The Narco Hunt 2.0" was organised at the Palluruthy Block Panchayat premises on 28 September 2026 at 11:00 AM.
The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness against drug abuse among youth, students and the general public, and inspiring collective action towards building a drug-free society.
Drug abuse is a serious problem that adversely affects individual health, family life and the social environment. In this context, the programme highlighted the importance of strengthening collective efforts and public participation in the fight against drugs.
🎯 Key Objectives of the Programme
⚠️ The Need for Vigilance Against Drugs
Drug abuse is not merely an individual problem; it is a social challenge that affects families and communities. Drug abuse can lead to physical and mental health problems, poor performance in education and employment, breakdown of family relationships and various social issues.
It is very important to identify drug abuse at an early stage and provide the necessary awareness and support. Society must also come forward to ensure that people facing drug-related problems are not isolated, but receive proper guidance and access to treatment.
🤝 Social Responsibility and Collective Action
The success of anti-drug initiatives requires the active participation of Local Self Government Institutions, schools, parents, youth organisations, volunteers, Kudumbashree members and the general public, along with government agencies.
By encouraging healthy lifestyles, sports, arts and cultural activities, and positive friendships among children and young people, we can create a supportive social environment that helps them stay away from drugs.
📣 Message to the Public
The fight against drugs should not be limited to a one-day programme. The awareness and responsibility of every individual must become part of this effort. Open discussions should be encouraged with children and young people about the harmful effects of drug abuse. In suspicious or concerning situations, assistance should be sought from the responsible authorities.
Society must also adopt a compassionate approach towards people affected by drug abuse, without blaming or isolating them, and guide them towards treatment and rehabilitation.
Let us build a drug-free Kerala for the generations of tomorrow!
